That darn cat

This morning Randy woke up, walked into the living room, and did not see our cat Missy.  Missy greets him every morning and wants her belly rubbed. So when she didn't greet him today, he was frantic. He looked everywhere for her, then woke me up and we searched together. Missy was simply not in the coach.  We went outside to look and call for her, and after about 10 minutes I heard a meow. And Missy crept out a little bit from her hiding space between the garage and the neighbor's fence, covered in cobwebs. I scooped her up and brought her inside, where we cleaned her up and gave her a good breakfast.

Needless to say we were so happy to have her safe and back in our arms! Our best guess is that we were careless the night before when we took Julie out and Missy made her escape. Thank God she didn't go far!

She's been sleeping all day today so I'm guessing that she didn't sleep at all last night. She's been an inside cat for years so she probably stayed awake, afraid of what might get her if she closed her eyes. Hopefully she learned that she doesn't like it outside at night!
