2013 - Hello to the new year

On New Year's Eve day we arrived in Arizona. We've been here several times since we started RVing and although RVing is all about going new places, there is also a nice feeling to be on familiar roads again.  For example, on  highway 8 we know that it's worth stopping for the date shakes at Dateland (although if they keep raising the prices it won't be).  We will not be not staying at the same place as before, though; this time we will stay in an RV park in Queen's Creek, which is southeast of Phoenix.  We heard about this place from Clyde and Nancy, who are also staying here.  They welcomed us to the park by cooking a great dinner (steak and shrimp!), and then driving us out to see a house with outstanding Christmas decorations.  I hope this video loads OK - it's fun.
And today, the first day of 2013, we spent most of the time cleaning and organizing.  I thought the RV looked pretty good while we were parked in Riverside, but after just a few days on the road it seemed so messy and disorganized.  But there is no sense working all day, so we joined Clyde and Nancy for dinner again, along with their son and his fiance, then went to the movies to see "Jack Reacher".  A nice beginning to the year.  Nancy says this will be her lucky year - maybe it will be ours, too!
