We got up early to leave; it felt good to be heading home. By now Shorty was so tired of traveling that he couldn't raise any enthusiasm for it. No sparkle in his eyes at all. We drove for hours before stopping at the Memphis La Quinta, where we unpacked and drove straight to Corkey's BBQ, our favorite place for dry-rub ribs. I didn't take any pictures; too busy eating. This time we also ordered brisket with sides of mac and cheese, beans and slaw. Those were all Ok, but just OK. Ribs are the only thing that Corkey's does excellent, but those are so good at that that it doesn't matter.
We found a Penzeys Spice store in the area, and a Sprouts store. We haven't seen a good Sprouts since we left Vista, CA!
