Visiting a tenacious lady

Wednesday we drove to East Peoria to check in at the Motel 6. The Motel 6 in East Peoria doesn't have much going for it, except it accepts pets. Otherwise we wouldn't consider staying there. But we settled the pets in and drove over to see Mom. A few days ago she fell on the sidewalk while walking over to her neighbor's. She broke her kneecap, wrist, and several teeth. She's got two black eyes and a lot of scraped up scabs on her face. Nevertheless, she refused to stay overnight in the hospital. Fortunately Kathy was able to move in with her for several days. Mom's in pretty good spirits now, encouched in her lift chair with everything she needs at hand. But she needs to eat only soft foods for a few weeks, until the swelling goes down and her teeth can be fixed.

We visited until she was tired, then went to Avanti's for our favorite pizza.
