Friday evening as the workampers at the KOA were throwing a going-away party for us, Randy got a phone call. And our world changed; his younger sister, Theresa, was gone.
Theresa won many hard-fought battles against depression but Thursday she lost the war. She was bright, fun, lively. She loved her family passionately and befriended everyone. When Lonnie died we discovered that the loss of a close family member leaves a hole in the world. This hole, however, has jagged edges; we cut ourselves on it, as we try to come to terms. There are no answers, but we realize that Theresa is still our beloved sister.
Saturday we drove to Amarillo to be with her family. Now we are headed to Pekin, for the funeral.
